Welcome! I am Guilherme de Sousa (he/him), a fourth-year PhD candidate in theoretical physics at the University of Maryland - College Park. I work with Prof. Christopher Jarzynski and Prof. Ian Spielman on quantum control, quantum measurement theory, statistical physics, and machine learning. My research interest include quantum information and quantum thermodynamics.

 

I am from Brazil, where I got my B.S. in Computational Physics at the Instituto de Física de São Carlos, Universidade de São Paulo. Before joining UMD, I worked for six months as a Jr Data Analyst at Serasa Experian.

Recently, I had the opportunity to work at 3M in the Consumer Business Group as a Graduate Data Science & Engineering Intern. I worked on multiple projects focused on R&D.
